Our Organization

Worcester 78's is a hybrid organization that is community first focused in the city of Worcester MA. Our primary objective is to inspire and motivate young people to learn, lead and achieve. Our strategy is to leverage teachable moments into opportunities to learn through the many moving parts it takes to operate a sports team. Students interested in an area across a range of athletics, business and creative disciplines will have an organization willing to help them learn, create, experiment and maybe even break a thing or two while taking part in a real world, bootstrapped startup.

Our basketball team must lead by example in the fundamental message for students:

Hard Work Gets Results

Organizational Structure

Our organization is still small and developing. When the time comes to implement an organizational strategy it will be quite flat in structure with three primary operational units: business, basketball and community. Our productivity philosophy is very influenced by the Agile Development Methodology. We value aligned short, medium and long term goals with iterative productivity blocks followed by open team review.
